Grub
Here's a new animation piece I've been working on. I'm trying to get back into doing After Effects regularly. I haven't done any animation since the last Chodega piece that went up last year. I've been working on this since the end of March; I probably could have done it in a few weeks, but my animation skills are rusty, and my attention kept getting pulled away by my metal blog and podcast.

I'm hoping to do a new animation every month from now on. Right now I'm drawing a blank as to what to do next, but no doubt it will be just as weird and gross. I realized while I was watching the finished video for the 1000th time that I'd probably be in a pretty good place career-wise if I wasn't pathologically hell-bent on alienating the "right" people and getting acclaim from the "wrong" people. All I know is when I'm gone I'd rather be hanging out with George Carlin than Steve Jobs.

Horrorfest Flyers
Old flyers for my yearly horror movie marathons. Can't find the one from 2008, but it had Jason Voorhees on it and was pretty sweet.
UPDATE: Here it is. It was printed on gold paper, because ooooh, shiny.

Haters Gonna Hate
Bored of staring at code, decided to have some fun with the poster for the upcoming season of Breaking Bad. Nowhere near the ingenious pop culture riffing of Olly Moss, but it should tickle some message boards. Spread it on the interwebs kiddies!

Plus, I used a photo of myself in that Napalm Death hoodie that people seem to love.
Check it out.

Scar Culture: Looking Back on the Good Old Days
Better late than never: My buddy Pheroze wrote a retrospective on his band Scar Culture, which gave me my first professional work, and to this day my proudest moment. Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in my metal blog, but this is how I broke in as a designer/illustrator. Along with the CD cover/packaging, I also did a few shirts for the guys. Pheroze has since retired from the world of death metal screaming, but is still actively involved with music in his own eponymous project:
I was hoping to upload the original cover, but it's been lost in my constant moving back and forth between countries. Instead, here's the scaly reptile dude:
Boy I love me some microns.
Here are the back prints for the shirts:

From sharing the CD racks with Rotting Christ to the NY Public Library...what a long strange trip it's been.
